Sophie the day after the birth, in her first onesie, care of Kathi and Thommy. Her top fits into the shirt well, but with the nappy, the butt area is quite tight. This was my first experience of putting a nappy on her as the midwives did her first one.
After her first bath, care of a midwife in the hospital. On the baby's first or second day, a midwife passes through the ward to help teach new moms how to give baby their first bath or top and tail (water rinse of the baby's head and tush areas).
Wearing her first "strampler" (German for baby-gro) care of Lisa and Jaime. You can see on her cheek the bruises that resulted from the doctor using forceps on her to drag her out of me. In addition to the bruising on her face, her left shoulder is also affected and we were told by the doctors that it would be sore for a few days. Poor baby.
Sophie strapped in her car seat, ready for home. We managed to convince the pediatrician to release us two days earlier than planned, and it is all due to Sophie's quick recovery from a temperature and her bruises.
A new chapter is about to begin! Watch this space!
