So, what a summer. A lot of clouds, a lot of humidity, and a lot of rain. Some say it wasn't that much of a summer, but I would be to disagree. Aside from the weather, what makes a season are the activities you get to do in that season that you wouldn't get to do at any other time of the year. And for me, my family and I were able to do very special things this time of year:
1. Learn how to drive, German style.
2. Let Sophie lose... on hiking trails, in the playground, in the sandpit, in the convalescence home, anywhere really!
3. Swim (true, only for the first half of May) and slide... then swim again!
4. Go on a full Funke family hiking holiday.
5. Celebrate Sophie's 1 year birthday!
6. Barbeque, barbeque, barbeque.
7. Picnic in the park!
8. Steering Warrick away from lots of other dogs in heat.
9. See Sophie walk everywhere, anywhere!
10. Prepare to celebrate Christian's 30th.
So, weather aside, summer was/is still fun! Forget rainy days, remember only that where there is a will, there is a (fun) way.
